Alexander Wang developed his flair for design and fashion from a very early age. At the age of 15, a teenager still, he attended a design program at the renowned Central Saint Martins college in London and after his studies at the New York Parsons School of Design he pursued his career in fashion. He experimented with knitwear at the beginning of his career but his very first New York Fashion Week show in 2007 featured a variety of materials. He was instantly acknowledged by his peers and the fashion world, going on to win awards and honors that helped his label claim its place in the luxury designer world. Alexander Wang clothes are recognizable by their modern, clean cut urban lines and their materials as he often experiments with different fabrics. After using bright colors for his spring collection in 2009 in order to counteract the predominantly black winter collection of the previous year, he went back to using mainly black and muted colors and Alexander Wang clothes have since been known as being dark masterpieces. His T by Alexander Wang men’s and women’s collections were launched in 2008 and 2009 respectively and they are now available worldwide in luxury designer department stores on and off line.
